Technical Procurement Engineer (HVDC)

Company

hirify.global is building an industrial electric grid for the United States using long-distance HVDC transmission and software-defined Macrogrids.

What you will do

• Coordinate with engineering, project management, and vendors to align equipment specifications, procurement timelines, and project requirements.
• Support sourcing and procurement of transformers, switchgear, batteries, and other high-voltage transmission equipment.
• Coordinate pricing, delivery schedules, lead times, and commercial negotiations with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Track procurement schedules and help resolve supply chain and delivery challenges.
• Report directly to the Head of Procurement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or another relevant engineering discipline.
• 3–6+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, project engineering, or related technical or commercial roles.
• Experience with technical or industrial equipment procurement, including vendor coordination, sourcing, and commercial discussions.
• Experience working in energy, utilities, manufacturing, or industrial infrastructure environments.
• Mid-level experience combining engineering with procurement or supply chain responsibilities.

Nice to have

• Direct experience sourcing long-lead-time equipment for the energy industry.
• Familiarity with HVDC systems or high-voltage transmission hardware.
• Experience with international sourcing and logistics.
• Background in a high-growth or startup environment.
• Contract management experience with milestone-based delivery and penalty clauses, or utility-scale battery storage procurement experience.
