Procurement Engineer - Electrical

Location: Gaithersburg, Maryland, United States. Hybrid schedule with 4 days per week in the office and 1 day from home, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm. Relocation package available. Travel: 10%.

Salary: Level III $90,000–$130,000; Level IV $106,000–$149,000; Level V $113,400–$189,000 per year.

What you will do

• Implement supply chain processes and act as the primary liaison with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Identify, develop, qualify, and manage equipment and service suppliers for project requirements.
• Develop strategic and project-specific supply chain, category management, contracting, and risk mitigation plans.
• Lead supplier negotiations covering cost, schedules, terms and conditions, technical requirements, and strategic agreements.
• Review specifications, equipment datasheets, and scopes of work to ensure complete procurement documentation and accurate supplier proposals.
• Manage supplier contracts and performance, coordinate quality assurance requirements, and resolve delivery or performance issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science.
• Typically 5 years of experience for Level III, 10 years for Level IV, or 15 years for Level V; at least 7 years of supply chain experience is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in the nuclear industry, large construction projects, or plant overhauls.
• Experience developing negotiation strategies, leading supplier negotiations, and creating strategic category management plans.
• Experience with supplier identification, development, performance management, and procurement contracting.
• Technical knowledge of power plant components; experience with electrical equipment such as switchgear, transformers, VFDs, and motors is preferred.
