Computational Protein Designer (Generative AI)

What you will do

• Design proteins for specific functions using proprietary generative AI models and prepare designs for experimental validation.
• Analyze protein design problems using functional requirements, biochemistry, structural biology, and sequence homology.
• Coordinate with laboratory-based protein engineers on design processes and validation strategies.
• Analyze experimental results and use them to improve future designs and model success rates.
• Collaborate with machine learning scientists to fine-tune and prompt models, and provide feedback to software and foundational ML teams.
• Improve computational tools, data management systems, workflows, and communication between modeling and experimental units.

Requirements

• Proven experience running protein design campaigns end-to-end using computational tools and biochemical or structural biology expertise.
• Experience with generative modeling, including model training and large-scale inference, preferably in synthetic biology applications.
• PhD or equivalent industry experience in computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, biochemistry, structural biology, physics, biophysics, bioengineering, chemical engineering, or a related field.
• Experience collaborating with experimental or wet-lab teams to achieve protein design objectives.
• Experience with homology-based and structural bioinformatics and answering scientific questions using very large databases.
• Strong scientific communication, project delivery, collaboration, and process optimization skills.

• Experience with lab automation through hardware or software.
