Research Associate (Brain-Computer Interfaces)

Salary: $95,000–$120,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Design, execute, and iterate on experiments across molecular biology, protein biochemistry, cell biology, synthetic biology, neuroscience, and translational biology.
• Perform laboratory work including cloning, mutagenesis, plasmid preparation, protein expression and purification, cell culture, transfection, imaging, in vivo experiments, tissue preparation, and sample handling.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, inventories, and shared resources.
• Analyze and present experimental data to guide research design and technical decisions.
• Learn new techniques and collaborate with scientists, engineers, and data scientists across disciplines.

Requirements

• BS, BA, or MS in Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, Bioengineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with molecular cloning, protein purification, mammalian cell culture, or in vivo biology.
• Prior experience in an academic or industry research laboratory.
• Strong attention to detail, curiosity, organization, collaboration, and commitment to data integrity.
• Interest in developing as an independent scientist while working on frontier biotechnology and brain-computer interface research.

Nice to have

• Experience with biochemical or imaging assays such as SDS-PAGE, fluorescence microscopy, or enzymatic assays.
• Familiarity with rodent models or in vivo experimental workflows.
