FP&A Director (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Ventura, California, with periodic in-person collaboration; remote-friendly with preference for Ventura-based candidates

Compensation: $190–$245 plus equity

What you will do

• Build and own the FP&A function, including forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and long-range planning.
• Redesign financial reporting infrastructure and develop automated monthly and quarterly reporting workflows.
• Deploy modern tooling and AI to accelerate financial analysis, scenario modeling, forecasting, and narrative generation.
• Establish performance dashboards and KPIs that provide leadership with timely business insight.
• Prepare executive-level financial reports, investor materials, and board-ready presentations in partnership with the CFO.
• Partner with executives and cross-functional leaders across Sales, Operations, and Product on planning, performance tracking, and decision-making.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or a similar analytical finance role.
• Expert financial modeling skills, including building models from scratch and translating complex data into actionable insights.
• Strong familiarity with modern FP&A tools and experience implementing scalable processes and automations.
• Demonstrated experience using AI tools for financial analysis, reporting, or forecasting in shipped work.
• High ownership, independent execution, and experience operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Experience working cross-functionally in a high-growth startup or similar environment.

Nice to have

• SQL proficiency and experience pulling and manipulating data from source systems.
• Experience in a venture-backed or fast-scaling startup.
• Exposure to SaaS, marketplace, or operations-heavy business models.
• Experience with construction materials, last-mile logistics, or industrial supply chains.
• Based in Southern California with proximity to the Ventura headquarters.
