CNC Machinist Setup & Operation – MILL (Aerospace Robotics)

Location: On-site at Future Factory; applicants must meet U.S. Government export-control eligibility requirements.

Salary: $25–$32/hour for Level 1 or $32–$40/hour for Level 2. Overtime may be available during peak build cycles.

What you will do

• Set up and operate 3-axis, 4th-axis rotary, and 5-axis CNC mills for precision aerospace robotics manufacturing.
• Edit and optimize HAAS G-code programs and adjust speeds, feeds, tooling, and offsets.
• Interpret engineering drawings, CAD/CAM models, and GD&T requirements to plan machining strategies.
• Prepare fixturing, soft jaws, vices, tooling, first-article parts, and in-process inspections.
• Maintain setup sheets, tool lists, marked-up prints, programs, and a clean, functional machine shop.
• Support troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, repairs, mentoring, and product assembly when needed.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of CNC machining experience; 5+ years is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of 3-axis CNC milling and exposure to 5-axis machining.
• Experience with HAAS controls, including UMC 750 and VF-series machines, and G-code, or willingness to learn.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, qualifying refugee or asylee, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted and perform frequent standing, bending, grasping, pulling, and other shop-floor activities.

Nice to have

• Expertise in multi-axis mill setup, fixturing, and operation.
• Experience with complex surfacing, contours, aerospace applications, and process optimization.
• Knowledge of feeds, speeds, and tooling for aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, Inconel, plastics, and similar materials.
• Experience mentoring others and leading shop projects.
