Hard Trim – Engineer (Automotive)

What you will do

• Design automotive trim components and subsystems in CATIA V5/V6.
• Develop and execute interior system requirements across one or more trim commodities.
• Balance styling, function, cost, craftsmanship, fit, and finish with the design studio.
• Complete and release component, subsystem, and detail designs using internal and supplier engineering resources.
• Interpret CAE simulation results and integrate recommendations into product designs.
• Collaborate with suppliers and vehicle, manufacturing, and procurement teams on feasibility, serviceability, prototypes, and production launches.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 4 years of experience in automotive trim component and subsystem engineering from concept through production launch.
• At least 6 years or 10,000 hours of CATIA V5 3D modeling experience in automotive product development.
• Experience with premium luxury trim and systems, manufacturing technologies, design for manufacturing, GD&T, and dimensional engineering.
• Experience completing technical documentation for at least one full vehicle program, including DVP&R and DFMEA.
• Ability to manage complex projects under tight timing constraints and apply DFSS during design, validation, and launch.
