Senior Design Release Engineer, Chassis Accessories (Automotive)

Location: Troy, Michigan. Applicants must be authorized to work permanently in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Lead the development, design, and release of chassis accessories, including suspension lift and lower kits.
• Evaluate the effects of accessory components on vehicle dynamics, system performance, durability, and assembly.
• Create and manage APQP documentation, including DFMEA, engineering specifications, DVP&R, drawings, and control plans.
• Coordinate sourcing and technical reviews with Accessories product management, Purchasing, and suppliers.
• Ensure accessory combinations meet FMVSS requirements and are compatible with interfacing systems, hardware, and joint designs.
• Lead design reviews, validation activities, engineering changes, issue resolution, and delivery of production-ready documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
• 8+ years of automotive chassis engineering experience, preferably involving suspension lift and lower kits.
• Experience in at least two relevant areas, including suspension architecture and hardpoint design, lift and lower kit release, suspension component engineering, or chassis fasteners and testing.
• Strong knowledge of suspension kinematics, vehicle dynamics, component durability, APQP, and related documentation.
• Experience with Catia V5, PLM systems, component release, and engineering change processing.
• Permanent authorization to work in the United States is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with ADAMS chassis software.
• Master's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Catia V5 modeling experience.
