Director, Fund Accounting & Investment Operations

Location: Based in New York City with a hybrid schedule of three days per week

Target base salary: $180K plus meaningful portfolio equity

What you will do

• Own fund accounting across SPVs, aggregators, parallel funds, offshore blockers, and other complex investment vehicles using Allvue.
• Prepare and review NAV packages, partner capital statements, reconciliations, fund financial statements, capital calls, and distributions.
• Manage investor onboarding, subscriptions, KYC/AML processes, investor reporting, communications, and accounting issue resolution.
• Review tax, regulatory, and compliance reporting, including K-1s, partnership tax forms, FATCA/CRS, Form ADV, and CIMA reporting.
• Lead external fund audits, coordinate administrators and advisors, and support fund structuring, changes, and new fund launches.
• Partner with Strategy & Finance, Legal, and Technology & AI teams to build AI-native fund administration processes and scale international fund operations.

Requirements

• CPA or equivalent license and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 8+ years of fund accounting and administration experience in venture capital, private equity, or hedge funds, including senior review responsibilities.
• Deep knowledge of US partnership accounting, complex fund structures, NAV, capital accounts, valuations, and financial statement review.
• Experience leading external audits and managing fund administrators, auditors, and external legal counsel.
• Strong knowledge of KYC/AML, banking compliance, FATCA, CRS, CIMA, cross-border requirements, and multi-entity operations.
• Willingness to evaluate and adopt frontier AI tools in daily work, with strong fund accounting software and investor CRM experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Allvue, cap table administration, partnership tax, and K-1 reporting.
• Exposure to technical fund launches, fund structuring, and accounting setup across new vehicles or jurisdictions.
• Familiarity with Copilot, Claude Code, Codex, Cowork, or other frontier AI tools.
