Director, Infrastructure Supply Chain Accounting (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY; hybrid policy requires working from one of the offices at least 25% of the time.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end accounting for compute infrastructure components, including cost accumulation, reserves, monthly close, reconciliations, roll-forwards, variance analysis, and transition to fixed assets.
• Apply ASC 360 and cost accounting principles to capitalization, useful lives, impairment, disposals, BOM costing, standard versus actual costs, and landed costs.
• Partner with Real Estate, Legal, Finance, engineering, infrastructure, operations, and supply chain stakeholders on contracts, commitments, cost transparency, and financial reporting.
• Improve upstream data pipelines and component tracking from purchase order through shipment, receipt, build, and deployment, including serial-number-level controls.
• Design scalable systems, processes, and controls for a rapidly growing fixed asset portfolio, including AI-enabled automation.
• Lead and mentor accounting professionals and serve as a key contact for external auditors.

Requirements

• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience in technology, manufacturing, or infrastructure-heavy companies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 360 and applied cost accounting experience in a supply chain context, including BOM costing, standard versus actual costing, obsolescence, and NRV analysis.
• Experience managing significant fixed asset or component/inventory portfolios in high-growth environments.
• Experience improving scalable financial processes, analyzing complex datasets, and leading accounting teams.
• Ability to explain technical accounting concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with engineering, infrastructure, operations, supply chain, and finance stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with semiconductor companies, hardware OEMs or ODMs, contract manufacturers, hyperscalers, or complex data center buildouts.
• Experience with fixed asset subledgers and component or inventory systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.
• SQL proficiency and experience with AI/ML infrastructure cost structures.
• Big Four accounting or advisory experience combined with industry experience.
• Experience applying AI tooling, including Claude, to accounting processes, memo drafting, or close automation.
