Director, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting (US GAAP)

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end preparation and filing of SEC Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, proxy statements, and Section 16 filings.
• Design and maintain the SEC reporting calendar, disclosure controls and procedures, narrative disclosure process, tie-outs, and supporting documentation.
• Research, evaluate, and document complex US GAAP and SEC reporting matters; author technical accounting memos and guide new accounting standards implementation.
• Administer DFIN ActiveDisclosure and serve as the subject matter expert for SEC reporting software.
• Partner with the CFO, CAO, Legal Counsel, FP&A, Investor Relations, and external auditors on reporting matters.
• Mentor accounting staff and support the financial reporting impact of M&A, debt offerings, and other material transactions.

Requirements

• Active CPA license.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, including significant experience in a public company environment and/or Big 4 public accounting firm.
• Hands-on experience managing SEC reporting and preparing 10-K and 10-Q filings.
• Proficiency with DFIN ActiveDisclosure or a comparable SEC reporting tool such as Workiva.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.
• Experience building processes from scratch and improving efficiency in a newly public company environment.
• Strong understanding of SOX compliance related to financial reporting controls.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment such as a recently public technology company.
