Senior Electrical Engineer - Design (Automotive)

Location: Hybrid in Clarksburg, Maryland, United States

Salary: $120,000–$160,000 per year, plus potential equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design high-reliability, safety-critical electrical hardware for autonomous military and commercial vehicles.
• Develop PCB and CCA designs using SoCs, microprocessors, controllers, DDR, I2C, CAN, SPI, SerDes, and automotive Ethernet interfaces.
• Design and integrate PCB and commercial-off-the-shelf power supply solutions.
• Perform prototyping, simulation, hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation at component, board, subsystem, and system levels.
• Lead a small electrical engineering team through hardware development from concept to production.
• Support production builds, improve cost and yield, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• 6+ years of hardware design experience, including complex digital and analog circuits.
• Experience with analog and high-speed digital signals, high-power and high-speed PCB stackups, and multi-layer PCB manufacturing standards.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, VNAs, circuit simulation, signal integrity, and power integrity tools such as LTSpice and HyperLynx.
• Experience with Altium Designer, OrCAD, or similar schematic capture and PCB layout software.
• Ability to solve complex technical problems independently and collaborate cross-functionally. Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance may be required.

Nice to have

• Experience with automotive hardware, networking hardware, embedded computers, or automotive camera systems using GMSL and MIPI CSI-2.
• Experience with ISO 26262, MIL-STD-882E, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, or MIL-STD-810.
• Experience working in a small engineering team environment.
