Senior Electrical Engineer (Systems)

Location: Torrance, California, United States. U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations is required for ITAR compliance.

Salary: $122,000–$250,000 per year, plus equity. Level-based ranges are listed from $122,400–$153,000 for Level 3 through $204,000–$255,000 for Level 6.

What you will do

• Own the electrical architecture and system-level design of high-speed digital communication systems.
• Define architectures for multi-gigabit networking and complex digital power trees, and drive system-level tradeoffs.
• Set technical direction for schematic capture, PCB layout, and bring-up across FPGA, microcontroller, and peripheral systems.
• Collaborate with RF, antenna, FPGA, firmware, software, and hardware teams to optimize system performance.
• Guide prototype testing, laboratory and field performance assessment, and system-level root-cause analysis.
• Partner with production teams to develop testable, manufacturable systems and support in-house integration.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of professional electrical design experience at the system or architecture level.
• Proficiency in high-density and high-speed design, including FPGAs, high-speed data converters, SerDes, 10/100 Gigabit Ethernet, networking, and JESD204C.
• Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, PCB materials, and board stack-up definition.
• Experience troubleshooting conducted or radiated EMI/EMC issues.
• Experience owning architecture-level decisions across the full product lifecycle from concept through production.
• Must satisfy applicable U.S. ITAR employment eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience designing high-speed mixed-signal electronics and complex multilayer PCBs for FPGA- or processor-based systems.
• Expertise in multi-gigabit SerDes, DDR, JESD204B/C, 10/100G Ethernet, signal integrity, and power integrity.
• Experience leading hardware development through validation, manufacturing, and production ramp.
• Experience debugging complex hardware with advanced laboratory instrumentation.
• Experience leading cross-functional efforts and mentoring junior engineers.
