Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Seattle, WA; hybrid workplace

Salary: $150,000–$175,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead a small software engineering and integration team, growing from two to three engineers.
• Set architecture direction, make technical decisions, and establish engineering standards.
• Own sprint planning, code reviews, delivery, and the modernization of integration platforms and patterns.
• Build internal applications, integrations, automation, and AI-powered tools through hands-on technical contribution.
• Partner with the Cloud & Platform Engineer on CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and deployment automation.
• Mentor engineers and support recruiting, cross-functional delivery, and engineering growth.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in technical leadership.
• Strong experience with Python, JavaScript or TypeScript, and cloud-native technologies.
• Experience with APIs, event-driven architecture, and ETL/ELT integration patterns.
• Hands-on cloud experience; Azure is preferred, while AWS and GCP are also considered.
• Experience leading small teams in shared-service environments with multiple internal customers.
• Ability to evaluate build-versus-buy decisions and explain technical trade-offs.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with the Salesforce ecosystem, including Financial Services Cloud, Apex, and Salesforce integrations.
• Experience applying AI/ML technologies, including LLM integration, RAG, or agent frameworks.
