.NET Backend Developer (Financial Services)

Location: Bucharest, Romania; hybrid work model

What you will do

• Own feature design and implementation from conception through production.
• Develop scalable, maintainable, thoroughly tested backend solutions and Web APIs.
• Lead collaboration with engineering, QA, Product, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct code reviews, promote engineering standards, and reduce technical debt.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and contribute to technical strategy.
• Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota approximately once every 3–4 weeks.

Requirements

• Senior-level software engineering experience with C# .NET Core and related open-source technologies.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, SOA, design patterns, Web API design, concurrency, asynchrony, and parallelism.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, relational database design, and SQL.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus modern agile development, version control, code reviews, and continuous integration.
• Proven experience with test-driven development, unit-testing frameworks, mocking frameworks, and testability patterns.
• Experience in the mutual funds industry or related financial services sectors, along with the ability to mentor and guide engineers.

Nice to have

• Commercial TypeScript experience and Angular-based single-page applications.
• Enterprise messaging systems such as NServiceBus or Azure Service Bus.
• Microsoft Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes experience.
• Blockchain development and cryptographic concepts.
• Knowledge of mutual fund trading, settlement, reconciliation, lifecycle management, and regulation.
