IT Specialist (Application Developer) (Financial Services)

Location: New York City, NY; hybrid schedule with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office

Salary: $70,000–$90,000 per year

Technology services provider supporting a Japanese bank with financial services and enterprise technology projects.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and enhance internal and client-facing business applications.
• Support Microsoft SQL Server databases and related applications.
• Coordinate application change management, deployments, system migrations, and process improvements.
• Support business users and IT teams with application functionality, system design, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Perform application testing and collaborate with project teams, stakeholders, and external vendors.
• Create technical documentation, user guides, and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of application development experience.
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server experience.
• Experience with one or more of Angular, React, ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET, Visual Studio, PowerShell, or Salesforce.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with knowledge of SDLC processes.
• Ability to work in a hybrid schedule in New York City, including at least 2 office days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, banking, or capital markets.
• Knowledge of financial instruments, wholesale banking, lending, or market risk management.
• Experience with SWIFT messaging, payment systems, Excel, Access, VBA, SharePoint, or UiPath Studio.
• Understanding of application security and change management best practices.
