Location: Long Beach, California, United States; office-based role. U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements, and candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. U.S. export-control requirements also apply.
Base pay: $132,000–$220,000 USD per year in California, with company stock included in total compensation.

is an end-to-end space company developing rockets, spacecraft, propulsion systems, and other critical subsystems for civil, commercial, and defense missions.
What you will do
- Own the development of new and existing propulsion products and systems as a technical lead.
- Perform conceptual and detailed performance calculations, system modeling, analysis, and design.
- Gather, define, and manage system requirements throughout development.
- Plan, instrument, execute, and analyze propulsion system tests.
- Lead project planning, scheduling, task assignment, status communication, and risk-based technical decisions.
- Mentor engineers and technicians and improve engineering processes, documentation, training, and review standards.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in propulsion system development or an equivalent high-performance engineering field.
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, mechatronics, or another technical engineering discipline.
- Expertise in propulsion system modeling, static and transient analysis, and model validation using test data and tools such as Amesim, EcosimPro, Simulink, or Simscape.
- Experience with requirements, detailed design, qualification, production, and acceptance testing across the full development lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of Systems Engineering V and risk-based decision-making.
- Experience with electric propulsion systems, U.S. citizenship, and eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Nice to have
- Experience with Jama, Python data manipulation, NX or equivalent CAD, GD&T, engineering drawings, PLM software, and National Instruments data acquisition systems.
- Experience testing and troubleshooting flight hardware.
- Master’s or PhD in an engineering discipline.
- Hands-on engineering experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
