Company

hirify.global and Exploration is an aerospace start-up developing an experimental lighter-than-air electric airship.

What you will do

  • Develop power-electronics control algorithms in firmware for flight-vehicle requirements.
  • Work with firmware, hardware, systems, and software integration teams to implement DSP- and microcontroller-based controls.
  • Perform hardware-in-the-loop testing, embedded simulation, field validation, system bring-up, debugging, and signal-integrity checks.
  • Design test plans and validate firmware functionality, stability, and performance under varied conditions.
  • Document control architecture, control logic, regulatory compliance considerations, and software-level requirements.
  • Support electrical-system integration by reading schematics and participating in prototyping, validation, and system improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • 5+ years of power-electronics systems development experience focused on motor control and power electronics.
  • Strong understanding of power converters, electric drives, and battery-management systems.
  • Experience with DSPs, microcontrollers, power-electronics and electric-machine modeling, MATLAB/Simulink, PCB design, and basic electrical test equipment.
  • Experience owning hardware development from design through prototyping and validation, including digital and analog interfaces using LabVIEW, MATLAB, or Python.
  • Criminal background check and applicable drug-test clearance are required.

Nice to have

  • Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with PWM, SVM, voltage and current control loops, Park transform, and real-time control algorithms for inverters, converters, or battery systems.
  • Familiarity with ARM Cortex-M, TI C2000, STM32, CAN, RS232, EMI/EMC standards, and electrical signal integrity.
  • Knowledge of aerospace environmental, reliability, safety, and certification requirements.

Culture & Benefits

  • Fast-cycle flight-hardware development using a build-test-learn approach.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance through a PPO plan, with company-paid individual premiums.
  • Company-paid life, AD&D, and short- and long-term disability insurance.
  • Parental leave, generous PTO, and 10 paid holidays.
  • 401(k) matching up to 6%, wellness and cell-phone stipends, and an annual education stipend.
  • Relocation assistance, daily lunch and snacks, team events, and opportunities to participate in experimental airship development.
