Head of AI

Location: New York, NY; hybrid

Salary: $300,000–$400,000 per year, plus carry upside in the fund.

What you will do

• Set the AI vision and strategy with leaders across investing, portfolio impact, and firm operations.
• Own the AI product roadmap, define success metrics, track results, and prioritize initiatives.
• Lead development of a shared context and data layer, common infrastructure, evaluation methods, and reusable technical primitives.
• Build and evaluate prototypes and production systems involving LLMs, agents, retrieval layers, and model evaluation.
• Turn investor and operator workflows into AI products that improve decisions, deal sourcing, deal execution, and portfolio support.
• Lead engineers, analysts, and other contributors while coordinating AI integration across the firm.

Requirements

• 7–10+ years of experience building meaningful technical products or systems.
• Deep, current, hands-on fluency with LLMs, agents, context and retrieval layers, evaluations, and the broader model landscape.
• Track record of turning ambiguous zero-to-one opportunities into adopted products with measurable value.
• Strong combination of product judgment, technical depth, entrepreneurial ownership, and engineering leadership.
• Experience navigating complex organizations, aligning senior stakeholders, and communicating with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to build and lead teams with technical excellence, speed, accountability, and sound judgment.
