Product Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in New York City or San Francisco

Salary: $200,000–$300,000 annual base salary in Zone A, plus equity.

What you will do

• Design, prototype, and launch AI-powered products from early concepts through scaled features.
• Engage directly with customers to understand needs, validate ideas, and iterate quickly.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Data to take features from idea to production.
• Define product direction in ambiguous, fast-changing situations.
• Maintain fast and reliable systems under real-world usage.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building products and taking ideas from zero to one.
• Demonstrated ability to ship quickly while maintaining product quality.
• Strong product judgment and customer empathy.
• Outstanding communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work effectively in an ambiguous, rapidly changing environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python and strong ML or LLM knowledge.
• Experience with evals.
• History of direct customer engagement.
• Strong interest in applying AI to product experiences.
