TL;DR
Subcontract Administrator (Aerospace): Administering the full lifecycle of subcontracts, task orders, purchase orders, and modifications for space, defense, and national security programs with an accent on FAR/DFARS compliance, supplier coordination, and CPSR-compliant documentation. Focus on performing cost/price analysis, flowing down export-control requirements, supporting audits and proposals, and managing subcontractor performance through closeout.

Location: San Diego, CA; must be eligible to work in the United States and qualify as a U.S. Person for access to export-controlled information. Travel up to 10% may be required, including occasional overnight stays.

Base salary: $90,000–$130,000 per year, excluding benefits and bonus or incentive compensation.

What you will do

  • Develop, prepare, award, administer, modify, and close out subcontracts, task orders, purchase orders, and related files.
  • Prepare RFQs, perform cost and price analysis, and support competitive and sole-source selection evaluations.
  • Flow down prime contract clauses, terms and conditions, export controls, and regulatory requirements to subcontractors.
  • Maintain CPSR-compliant documentation, including price analyses, justifications, source selection records, and supplier performance files.
  • Coordinate with Program Management, Finance, Compliance, Billing, and external suppliers to resolve requirements and invoicing issues.
  • Onboard and manage consultants and contract labor, including documentation, system access, deliverables, modifications, and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Contracts Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5 years of subcontract or contracts administration experience in a U.S. government contracting environment.
  • Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CPSR, DCMA, and DCAA requirements.
  • Experience drafting subcontract terms and conditions, statements of work, RFQs, and other binding documents.
  • Proficiency with NetSuite and E2 JobBoss, along with experience performing cost and price analysis.
  • Active U.S. security clearance or the ability to obtain one; U.S. work eligibility and U.S. Person status are required for export-controlled programs.

Nice to have

  • Experience with aerospace or space systems programs.
  • Familiarity with NAVSEA specifications, ITAR/EAR, and export-controlled environments.
  • Experience supporting CPSR audits and DCAA/DCMA reviews.
  • NCMA certification such as CFCM, CPCM, or CCCM.
  • Experience with supplier management tools and comparable ERP or procurement systems.
