Credit Manager (Paygo Phones)

Location: Lagos, Nigeria; onsite with 70% of the time spent in the field

What you will do

• Evaluate portfolio performance, identify customers at risk of default, classify portfolio reflags, and report risk indicators and performance metrics.
• Analyze regional, area, and product trends and recommend actions to prevent negative portfolio developments.
• Conduct internal audits, identify process gaps, and verify compliance with underwriting, collections, onboarding, repossession, and customer-detail policies.
• Design and implement field collection strategies, optimize portfolio segmentation, and manage pilots against defined success metrics.
• Oversee timely fraud investigations, case closure within SLA, field reporting, data collation, and process documentation.
• Conduct industry research and work with stakeholders to improve sales and collections operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in finance, risk management, or a related business field.
• More than 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in audit, risk, or credit, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of data collection and field surveys, with strong data interpretation, planning, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to manage projects and process improvements, solve complex operational issues, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, teamwork, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Willingness to spend 70% of working time in the field.

Nice to have

• Certification in credit management, data interpretation, statistics, data, or computer science.
