What you will do

  • Define manufacturing tooling and body assembly line processes for new products, assembly sequences, and quality targets.
  • Manage project planning, technical specifications, supplier performance, design approval, installation, tryout, validation, and equipment debugging.
  • Provide technical direction to Manufacturing and Vehicle Engineering teams on equipment capabilities, manufacturability, and quality.
  • Manage approved equipment budgets and report project progress and issues to stakeholders.
  • Use industrial engineering tools for time studies, ergonomic assessments, layout analysis, and throughput improvement.
  • Optimize processes and resolve build issues during pre-launch and launch activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience launching assembly tooling and equipment.
  • Plant-floor experience as a process owner, production engineer, quality engineer, or in a similar production-equipment role.
  • Experience using statistical methods to improve quality, throughput, and cost.
  • Functional experience with CATIA V6 and DELMIA.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering teams, manage multiple projects, and deliver within schedule and budget.

Nice to have

  • Experience working with die suppliers in China or Asia.
  • Experience with virtual manufacturing simulation software.
  • Bilingual English and Mandarin communication skills.
