Senior Software Engineer (Backend) (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid in Paris, France, with three days per week at the office

What you will do

• Build and scale the core platform layer covering authentication, permissions, provisioning, notifications, APIs, billing, and integrations.
• Complete the platformization journey by ensuring notifier parity, redesigning notification delivery, and adding Slack threading, direct messages, and customizable email templates.
• Scale GitHub check runs by addressing API rate limits, database load spikes, dedicated task queues, and very large merge requests.
• Redesign plan architecture so Product and Sales can assemble offers and activate modules without Engineering intervention.
• Build OAuth2, public APIs, customer integrations, and health-check systems while improving self-service onboarding.
• Evolve the Django monolith through dependency inversion, typing improvements, and progressive decomposition; own projects from scoping through deployment and monitoring.

Requirements

• 5+ years of web development experience with strong proficiency in Django or another Python web framework such as FastAPI or Flask.
• Experience building web applications, task orchestration, distributed systems, and managing large data flows.
• Ability to own features end-to-end, including scoping, technical design, implementation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
• Strong proficiency in AI-assisted development workflows.
• Proactive collaboration, code review, mentoring, and contribution to technical decisions.

Nice to have

• Experience with large monolithic codebases and architecture best practices for this environment.
• Interest in refactoring and building reliable systems.
