FPGA Engineer (Low-Latency Trading)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; hybrid workplace with regular on-site attendance and occasional early arrival before business hours.

What you will do

• Develop and optimize FPGA-based systems for high-performance, low-latency options market making.
• Build next-generation algorithmic trading systems and investigate automated trading algorithms with the team.
• Develop new hardware platforms and performance-critical logic.
• Identify optimization opportunities and improve system speed, performance, code quality, tools, and technology adoption.
• Create new features and share technical knowledge with other team members.

Requirements

• Experience developing FPGA systems using Verilog or VHDL, including functional verification and static timing closure.
• Experience with C++, Bash, TCL, or Python scripting.
• Experience with FPGA design, simulation, and verification tools such as Synopsys, Riviera, ModelSim, or QuestaSim.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment with careful attention to detail.
• Interest in pushing performance boundaries, reducing latency, and building systems from the ground up.
