TL;DR
Senior Electrical Engineer - Circuit & Sensor (Sensor Systems): Designing and validating low-noise sensor interfaces and supporting electronics for deployable defence systems with an accent on circuit design, signal conditioning, PCB development, and embedded integration. Focus on selecting and calibrating sensors, reducing EMI/EMC risks, and verifying reliable performance in harsh field environments.

Location: On-site in Toronto, Canada

What you will do

  • Design, prototype, and test analog and digital circuits for optical, environmental, geospatial, spectral, chemical, and other sensors.
  • Evaluate sensors and develop signal-conditioning, amplification, filtering, and low-noise interface circuits.
  • Integrate sensors with embedded systems, power systems, microcontrollers, ADCs, communication interfaces, and applicable MIL-STD and commercial safety standards.
  • Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and power engineering teams on data acquisition, calibration, and processing.
  • Validate and calibrate sensor performance through laboratory and field testing.
  • Produce schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs, installation instructions, operating guidelines, test reports, and production troubleshooting documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5–7+ years of experience in electronic design and sensor system integration.
  • Hands-on experience with MEMS, optical, thermal, environmental, or similar sensors.
  • Proficiency with EDA tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or OrCAD, and experience integrating them with mechanical design tools such as SolidWorks.
  • Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, PCB design, prototyping, and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of noise reduction, EMI/EMC, signal integrity, laboratory instruments, and Python-based firmware development for sensor interfacing and testing.
