Applied AI ML Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the Ottawa, Ontario office

Salary: $105,000–$130,000 CAD annually, based on experience and qualifications

What you will do

• Design and implement autonomous AI agent architectures with tool calling, long-horizon reasoning, memory management, and RAG.
• Develop and deploy multi-agent workflows using ReAct, Plan-and-Execute, and reflection-loop patterns for security analysis and operations.
• Select, integrate, and fine-tune LLMs and SLMs while balancing latency, operating cost, and predictive accuracy.
• Build and maintain end-to-end machine learning pipelines covering data ingestion, feature engineering, training, evaluation, and production deployment.
• Optimize inference with quantization, pruning, TensorRT, and GPU-focused techniques while maintaining MLOps infrastructure.
• Apply deep learning, time-series analysis, and graph neural networks to threat detection, classification, and risk assessment.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in machine learning engineering or generative AI development, with production-grade delivery experience.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning principles, model evaluation, hyperparameter optimization, regularization, and statistical analysis.
• Experience developing LLM-powered applications or autonomous agentic systems.
• Advanced Python proficiency and experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including unit and integration testing, Git, and collaborative code reviews.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or MCP.
• Experience fine-tuning open-source models such as Llama, Mistral, BERT, or T5 and applying prompt engineering.
• Experience with Apache Spark or PySpark and AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• GPU optimization experience, including CUDA kernels, TensorRT, and hardware-aware model compression.
• Cybersecurity experience or familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK or NIST CSF.
