Senior Applied AI/ML Developer (AEC)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 123,000–180,400 annual base salary

What you will do

• Build AI-powered experiences that improve customer workflows in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Prototype, experiment with, and quickly validate emerging AI ideas using modern AI tools and coding assistants.
• Develop solutions with LLMs, RAG architectures, agent-based systems, and other applied AI/ML techniques.
• Evaluate AI models, tools, and techniques and determine which innovations are ready for product integration.
• Translate new technology into customer-facing product capabilities used by design and engineering professionals.
• Partner with product, design, engineering, and global teams to bring innovations to market.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in applied AI, machine learning, AI product engineering, ML engineering, or software engineering with significant AI/ML responsibilities.
• Hands-on experience building AI-powered applications, including LLM applications, RAG architectures, or agent-based systems.
• Strong programming skills in one or more of Python, C#, C++, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Experience with AI evaluation, observability, benchmarking, and quality measurement.
• Knowledge of architecture, engineering, or construction workflows and familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar AEC software and APIs/SDKs.
• Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, rapid prototyping, and experimentation skills.
