Forward Deployed Software Engineer, Internship - Intel

Location: Washington, D.C.; on-site at an office. Willingness to travel to client sites is required as needed; 25–50% travel is preferred depending on the team and location.

Salary: $10,000 per month, excluding benefits and potential long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Work in small teams to own the end-to-end execution of high-stakes customer projects.
• Understand customer problems and design software solutions that use data to improve operations.
• Discuss architecture and technical approaches with engineers and other technical stakeholders.
• Process massive-scale data and build custom web applications.
• Collaborate directly with customer executives and establish strategy for project execution.

Requirements

• Active Full Scope Poly Level clearance.
• Engineering background, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Java, C++, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
• Ability to learn continuously, work independently, make decisions with minimal direction, and collaborate with technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Must be planning to graduate in Winter 2027 or Spring 2028; this must be the final internship before graduation.

Nice to have

• Ability and interest to travel 25–50% to client sites, depending on team and location.
• Experience or interest in large-scale data, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, data structures, and storage systems.
