Salary: $200,000–$240,000 per year

What you will do

  • Lead end-to-end development and delivery of facilities and site infrastructure for the Vulcan laser system and Athena fusion energy pilot plant.
  • Manage integrated schedules across engineering design, permitting, procurement, construction, commissioning, and transition to operations.
  • Own project budgets, forecasts, cost baselines, and change control with Finance and Program Planning & Controls.
  • Develop RFPs, select and manage A/E firms, construction managers, EPC contractors, and major facility vendors.
  • Coordinate engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, utility, and site-readiness activities while resolving risks and cross-functional conflicts.
  • Drive permitting, utility coordination, compliance, and integration of specialized technical systems into the facility.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience managing complex facility development, capital construction, or infrastructure projects in energy, aerospace, semiconductor, or similarly technical environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Experience managing capital projects valued above $300 million from concept through commissioning.
  • Experience as an owner’s representative managing A/E, EPC, or major construction contractors.
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, contractor management, cost control, risk allocation, and capital delivery strategies.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee.

Nice to have

  • Experience with regulated environments, environmental review, utility interconnection, or nuclear-adjacent licensing.
  • Experience coordinating large utility loads and site infrastructure upgrades.
  • Experience integrating high-voltage, vacuum, radiation-shielded, or process-intensive systems into large facility builds.
