Event Manager

Location: San Francisco Bay Area; candidates must reside in the area. A large portion of events take place in the afternoon, evening, and on weekends.

Salary: $200,000–$230,000 per year, depending on skills and experience.

What you will do

• Produce milestone celebrations, multi-day retreats, quarterly Demo Days, and conferences ranging from high-touch events to programs for thousands of attendees.
• Build production schedules, run-of-shows, staffing plans, and event documentation.
• Source, negotiate with, and manage venues, hotels, caterers, rental companies, AV partners, transportation providers, fabricators, and other vendors.
• Coordinate registration, guest communications, credentialing, security plans, VIP attendee support, and public safety requirements.
• Manage event budgets, invoices, and contracts while working with city agencies to obtain permits.
• Lead event execution on-site, including load-in and load-out, independently or in partnership with the Head of Events.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional event production experience.
• Experience personally leading complex events from concept through execution as a lead producer, executive producer, or equivalent.
• Ability to own every stage of event production and maintain strong attention to detail.
• Professional communication skills for working with founders, executives, investors, public officials, vendors, and guests.
• Ability to work afternoon, evening, and weekend event schedules.
• Must reside in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Nice to have

• Experience with premium hospitality brands, luxury event production, or high-end experiential agencies.
• Experience with high-profile attendees or executive security teams.
• Venue operations experience in a museum, hotel, or other event space.
• Experience obtaining permits through San Francisco public agencies.
• Interest in using AI tools to improve event workflows.
