Sr. Accountant

Location: New York City, United States; hybrid role based in the NYC office with four days per week in-office

Salary: $110,000–$130,000 per year, with potential eligibility for a company incentive bonus

What you will do

• Support the month-end close process by recording journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and preparing variance analysis.
• Manage fixed assets, prepaid assets, and revenue to support compliant and accurate financial reporting.
• Improve accounting processes and help implement scalable controls and workflows.
• Prepare documentation for the annual external audit, respond to auditor inquiries, and implement audit recommendations.
• Handle ad hoc accounting requests and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of accounting or finance experience, including audit, financial reporting, and variance analysis across private and public industry sectors.
• Strong understanding of financial statements and US GAAP.
• Expertise in financial reporting, financial data interpretation, and detailed variance analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Excel and willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.

Nice to have

• CPA or CMA certification.
• Experience with NetSuite.
