Head of Quality (Fusion Energy)

Location: Denver, Colorado; full-time onsite at headquarters

Salary: $170,000–$190,000 per year

What you will do

• Define, govern, and continuously improve the company-wide Quality Management System, policies, and standards.
• Lead Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Supplier Quality functions.
• Own RCCA, NCR, inspection and verification planning, internal audits, and corrective-action effectiveness reviews.
• Manage supplier qualification, monitoring, risk evaluation, audits, and supplier quality performance with Supply Chain.
• Define quality metrics covering non-conformances, defect rates, right-first-time performance, and corrective-action timeliness.
• Build the Quality organization and collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Programs, and Leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physical sciences, quality, or a related discipline; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience leading quality organizations or growing quality responsibilities in complex hardware, systems engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or similar industries.
• Experience establishing or scaling a Quality Management System aligned with ISO 9001 principles.
• Expertise in structured problem-solving methods such as RCCA, 8D, or Six Sigma.
• Experience leading QA/QC, Quality Engineering, and Supplier Quality functions, with strong analytical and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident with a current Green Card, or lawfully admitted to the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice to have

• Experience in high-iteration environments with evolving configurations and rapid scale-up.
• Background implementing QMS in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
• ASQ CQE, Six Sigma Black Belt, or similar certification.
• Experience with special process validation or complex systems manufacturing.
