Director, Quality (Hydrogen Manufacturing)

Location: Devens, Massachusetts, United States; onsite

Salary: $192,270–$226,200 USD base salary annually

What you will do

• Define and execute the quality strategy for product development and electrolyzer manufacturing scale-up.
• Build and lead the quality function, including hiring, team development, and organizational growth.
• Design, implement, and maintain a scalable Quality Management System aligned with ISO 9001.
• Lead ISO 9001 certification, internal audits, documentation control, training, and compliance activities.
• Develop supplier quality programs covering qualification, audits, corrective actions, traceability, and performance monitoring.
• Drive manufacturing readiness, process validation, inspection planning, root cause analysis, CAPA, yield improvement, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality systems, manufacturing quality, or related roles.
• Experience building and implementing a QMS from the ground up and achieving and maintaining ISO 9001 certification.
• Strong knowledge of NCR, IQC, MRB, CAPA, QA, QC, QMS, and quality planning.
• Experience in hardware manufacturing, contract manufacturing, and global supplier networks.
• Demonstrated leadership, data-driven problem-solving, and the ability to work strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced startup.

Nice to have

• Experience with electrochemical systems, hydrogen technologies, or other complex industrial products.
• ASQ CQE, CQA, CMQ/OE, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, ISO Lead Auditor, or equivalent certification.
