Salary: $130,000–$200,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do
- Serve as the technical authority for dimensional management, GD&T, and quality strategy for HTS Magnet production and the SPARC Project.
- Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to translate design intent into manufacturable GD&T requirements and practical work instructions.
- Architect inspection systems, measurement strategies, tooling, and floor-level quality plans for large metallic components and complex geometries.
- Lead risk-informed quality controls and disposition Non-Conformance Reports through use-as-is, rework, repair, or scrap decisions.
- Analyze manufacturing data with control charts and process capability studies, and lead PFMEA, Quality Plan, MSA, and Gage R&R activities.
- Coach QC Inspectors and Quality Engineers on GD&T interpretation and provide technical oversight during subsystem integration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Materials Science, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 10+ years of Quality Engineering experience in manufacturing, assembly, or equipment manufacturing, including new product transition to production.
- Program-level ownership of dimensional management or quality strategy and experience architecting inspection systems for complex hardware.
- Mastery of GD&T under ASME Y14.5 and deep knowledge of CMM, Romer Arm, and laser tracker metrology.
- Experience with ISO 9001:2015, Six Sigma, SPC, process capability analysis, PFMEA, MSA, and APQP; proficiency with Minitab or JMP, Excel including VBA, and Visio.
- Ability to work on-site in an industrial facility, occasionally lift up to 50 lbs, and work occasional nights, weekends, on-call shifts, or travel.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of NDE methods including dye penetrant, ultrasonic, eddy current, and X-ray.
- Knowledge of cryogenics.
- NPI experience in a low-volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience mentoring QC Inspectors and Quality Engineering teams.
