Software Development Engineer in Test II (SDET II)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for PlayStation SDK video codec software and hardware components.
• Build and maintain Jenkins CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing, nightly regressions, and release validation.
• Develop API-level automation for codec SDK interfaces, functionality, and performance.
• Write test code in C++ and Python for functional, regression, integration, performance, and stress testing.
• Investigate failures, triage bugs, and collaborate with codec developers to resolve issues.
• Improve test infrastructure, reporting, scalability, documentation, and quality-risk monitoring.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in software development in test, QA automation, or a related engineering role.
• Hands-on coding experience in C++ and Python.
• Experience building and maintaining Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience designing API test automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of functional, regression, integration, and performance testing methodologies.
• Ability to debug complex issues across software and hardware layers and collaborate with development teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with video codec technologies such as H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1.
• Familiarity with AI agents or AI/LLM-based tools for test automation.
• Experience with GTest, Catch2, or Google Mock.
• Experience testing embedded systems, SDKs, consoles, or hardware platforms.
• Experience with performance benchmarking and profiling tools.
