Sr. Revenue Accountant (SaaS)

Location: US Remote; candidates must be eligible to work in the United States for full-time employment.

Salary: $105,600–$132,000 per year

What you will do

• Own complex revenue streams by analyzing customer contracts, performance obligations, transaction prices, and revenue timing under ASC 606.
• Prepare and review revenue recognition schedules, deferred revenue, contract assets, liabilities, reconciliations, and system-generated revenue outputs.
• Resolve complex revenue accounting issues and prepare technical accounting memos with supporting analysis and business implications.
• Design, execute, and maintain SOX controls over revenue processes while supporting internal and external audits.
• Partner with Sales, Legal, and cross-functional stakeholders on contract structuring and accounting outcomes.
• Improve revenue processes through automation, standardization, system implementations, and adoption of new accounting standards.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in revenue accounting, technical accounting, or public accounting, including significant ASC 606 and complex contract analysis experience in a SaaS or similar environment.
• Advanced knowledge of revenue recognition principles and experience with multi-element arrangements, deferred revenue, and contract balances.
• Experience with SOX compliance, internal controls over financial reporting, ERP systems, and revenue subledger tools such as NetSuite or similar.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyze large, complex datasets.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, judgment, and cross-functional stakeholder management skills.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; employment sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• CPA certification, a Master’s in Accounting, or Big 4/public accounting experience.
• Experience in SaaS or fintech environments.
• Experience with RevPro, Zuora, system implementations, or large-scale process improvements.
• Experience using automation or AI tools to improve financial processes.
