Location: Onsite in San Jose, California, with a secondary office in Irvine, California

Salary: $170,600–$227,400 per year

What you will do

• Analyze laws and regulations concerning artificial intelligence and assess their impact on the business.
• Collaborate across functions on AI governance and risk assessments.
• Provide strategic legal advice on intellectual property compliance matters.
• Support IP-related internal investigations and employee training.
• Participate in onboarding discussions for high-risk candidates to prevent unauthorized use or disclosure of third-party confidential information.
• Support IP-related offboarding for high-risk terminations, protecting confidential information and trade secrets.

Requirements

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school; membership in one state bar is required.
• 2–3+ years of experience as an attorney at a top law firm or as in-house counsel at a technology company.
• Experience with patent or trade secret litigation or transactions.
• Knowledge of trade secret and patent law.
• Ability to understand technical concepts related to AI, storage, semiconductors, and computing.
• Strong legal, analytical, organizational, communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science, electrical engineering, materials science, or a related discipline.
• Degree from a top 50 law school.
