IP Counsel

Location: Spring, Texas, United States of America

Salary: $116,150–$182,400 USD annually, plus potential bonus and/or equity for candidates in the United States.

What you will do

• Manage global trademark filings, prosecution, and portfolio strategy.
• Support trademark and copyright disputes, including oppositions, enforcement litigation, domain name disputes, and online takedown actions.
• Advise marketing and business stakeholders on trademark, copyright, advertising, and related legal risks.
• Draft, review, and negotiate licensing, settlement, evaluation, and collaboration agreements.
• Provide subject-matter guidance on license scope, exclusivity, ownership, confidentiality, indemnification, and commercialization rights.
• Manage outside counsel and contribute to litigation, enforcement, and cross-functional legal projects.

Requirements

• Licensed attorney with meaningful trademark experience.
• Typically 4–7 years of relevant intellectual property legal experience.
• Strong understanding of global trademark and copyright law, portfolio management, IP ownership, and risk mitigation.
• Strong collaboration, communication, influencing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and support matters involving multiple teams and business stakeholders.

Nice to have

• In-house experience at a global company or law firm experience advising global companies.
• Experience with IP-sensitive transactions involving customers, suppliers, partners, competitors, or government-funded projects.
• Experience with marketing, advertising, copyright enforcement, domain names, or online brand protection.
