Senior Counsel - AI & Technology (AI)

Location: Columbus, Ohio, One hirify.global Plaza; the position may be hybrid or fully remote depending on location and can be filled within any of the lower 48 U.S. states.

Salary: $149,000–$279,000 annually; expected starting range: $149,000–$249,000.

What you will do

• Advise business and technology teams on legal issues arising from AI and emerging-technology development, procurement, deployment, and use.
• Support AI governance policies, review processes, internal coordination, training, and third-party auditing.
• Monitor AI legislation and regulations, translate developments into practical guidance, and support compliance with emerging AI laws.
• Assist with bias analysis, independent bias audits, internal model reviews, and the NAIC AI Systems Evaluation Tool.
• Provide counsel on digital-platform accessibility, website terms, disaster recovery, operational resilience, contractor technology access, sanctions, and technology-related litigation.
• Lead complex and strategic legal matters, collaborate with internal experts and outside counsel, and advise senior leaders on risk mitigation.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate from an American Bar Association-accredited law school.
• Active licensing in good standing and compliance with continuing legal education requirements in the state or states of practice.
• Typically 15 or more years of relevant legal experience, with expertise in complex legal practices and procedures.
• Strong knowledge of statutes, regulations, insurance policies, contracts, legal risk assessment, and business objectives.
• Ability to lead cross-functional projects, complex negotiations, strategic matters, and legal or organizational teams.
• A valid credit and/or background check is required during the selection process.
