Senior Billing Analyst (SaaS)

What you will do

• Own end-to-end billing operations across complex, multi-product, and multi-platform environments.
• Design and maintain auditable billing schedules and oversee usage-based billing calculations based on contracts and market-value pricing.
• Lead the monthly billing close, including threshold validation, invoice preparation, reconciliations, variance analysis, and audit documentation.
• Manage client billing relationships and disputes from initial contact through commercially sound resolution.
• Identify and implement controls, workflow improvements, and billing platform enhancements with IT and systems teams.
• Mentor junior billing analysts and represent Billing in cross-functional projects and leadership presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 7 years of progressive experience in billing, accounts receivable, or financial operations.
• Deep knowledge of electronic and manual billing, usage-based and market-value pricing, and complex commercial contracts.
• Expert-level Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, nested formulas, dynamic arrays, Power Query, and data modeling.
• Experience leading month-end close processes, supporting audits, analyzing financial data, and communicating with clients and executives.
• Experience in SaaS or technology companies, preferably in usage-based or subscription billing environments.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of SQL, including stored procedures, joins, and temporary tables.
• Experience with Alteryx, Python, or similar data automation tools.
• Familiarity with NetSuite, Salesforce Billing, Zuora, GoTransverse, or similar ERP and billing systems.
• Exposure to FP&A reporting, ASC 606 revenue recognition, or financial systems integration.
• CPA, CMA, or relevant professional certification, as well as experience mentoring teams or leading projects.
