Payments Product Lead (Fintech)

Location: On-site in New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; or Plymouth Meeting, PA. Employees are expected to work in the office five days a week.

Salary: $150,000–$250,000 per year, plus potential bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Own the payments product strategy and roadmap as the single owner of how money moves through ACH and card rails.
• Define rail and funding-instrument strategy, including ACH versus card usage, fallbacks, card updates, AVS, and re-instrumentation flows.
• Design payment orchestration covering cadence, retries, and prevention of stuck or orphaned transactions.
• Own reconciliation, ledger integrity, settlement timing, and money movement across internal systems.
• Set and drive the payments scorecard, including approval rates, outcomes, cost per dollar moved, and uptime.
• Lead cross-functional execution through Engineering, Risk, Compliance, and Finance while reporting to the Head of Product.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in payments product management, including end-to-end ownership of strategy and roadmap.
• Deep expertise in ACH and card networks, including return and response codes, retry and representment rules, AVS, BIN behavior, and settlement timing.
• System-level understanding of rail orchestration, fallback design, reconciliation, and ledgering.
• Experience shipping high-volume payment systems while owning rates, cost, and reliability outcomes.
• Ability to diagnose payment performance from data, define metrics, and apply AI to payment systems.
• Ability to work on-site five days per week in New York, Philadelphia, or Plymouth Meeting.

Nice to have

• Experience with EWA or consumer fintech lending.
• Familiarity with reconciliation and financial-close processes.
• Hands-on experience applying AI or automation to payment operations.
• Experience productizing payments operations, tooling, and automation.
