Lead DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: New York, United States; Workplace: On-site

Base salary: $180,000–$210,000 per year, plus potential discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, development, and deployment of DevOps workflows for cloud-native applications and enterprise infrastructure.
• Automate development and operational workflows using Terraform, GitLab/GitHub, Jenkins, SonarQube, Fortify, and related tools.
• Design and implement enterprise DevOps solutions in collaboration with leadership and cross-functional technology teams.
• Define and drive best practices for application deployment, infrastructure maintenance, and cloud service management.
• Evaluate and adopt new cloud tools and technologies while solving complex technical challenges.
• Mentor development teams, prioritize delivery, manage dependencies, and maintain alignment with client stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, automation, and DevOps engineering, including 2+ years in a leadership or senior engineering role.
• Expertise with Terraform and other infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Extensive experience designing and deploying cloud-native applications, particularly on AWS.
• In-depth knowledge of AWS services and container technologies such as Docker; Kubernetes experience is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with CloudFormation, CDK, Helm, legacy cloud migrations, and application modernization.
• Knowledge of cloud security tools and concepts, including AWS IAM, HashiCorp Vault, and CyberArk.
• Experience with AWS Aurora, DynamoDB, serverless architectures, and AWS Lambda.
• Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, Python, or Go; Python is preferred.
