TL;DR
Manufacturing Engineering Technician I (Medical Devices) (Manufacturing and medical device equipment): Maintaining, repairing, calibrating, and troubleshooting production equipment and assemblies in a regulated medical device environment with an accent on equipment reliability, quality compliance, and production support. Focus on performing root cause analysis, implementing corrective solutions, supporting new product introduction, and minimizing production downtime.

Location: Onsite at the office in Irvine, California. Weekend day shift from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Pay rate: $25.00+ per hour, plus a 7% shift differential.

What you will do

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, calibrate, and rework production equipment and assemblies.
  • Provide technical support to production lines during equipment issues, changeovers, and interruptions.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, calibrations, inspections, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to resolve equipment and process issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement solutions to prevent recurring problems.
  • Support process improvements and new product introduction while maintaining quality and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of manufacturing experience; medical device or other regulated-industry experience is preferred.
  • High school diploma required; an associate degree in a technical field is preferred.
  • Ability to apply Quality System Regulations and GMP principles.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools, operate electrical and mechanical equipment, and interpret results.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to work onsite in Irvine, California, on the scheduled Friday–Sunday shift.

Nice to have

  • Experience with medical devices, FDA requirements, ISO 13485, GMP, or similar quality systems.
  • Associate degree in a technical field.
