Research Technician

Location: Milpitas, California, United States; on-site

Salary: $35–$50 per hour for a full-time position, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Support process development projects and experimental studies in superconductor R&D.
• Operate laboratory tools and systems.
• Perform materials characterization and analyze experimental data.
• Work with R&D technical staff, process engineers, and metrology engineers.
• Track project progress and report results to the Senior Process Lead.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of experience as a process or metrology technician in related R&D or manufacturing.
• Experience with technical instructions, manuals, test execution, data collection, and reporting.
• Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, safety, quality, communication, and teamwork.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work on-site in Milpitas and occasionally work nights, weekends, on-call shifts, or compressed work-week schedules.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work around industrial hazards including heat, fumes, strong magnets, high voltage, lead, and cryogenics.

Nice to have

• B.S. in materials science, physics, chemistry, or a related field.
• Experience in semiconductors, flat panels, batteries, solar cells, optoelectronics, or related fields.
• Experience with XRD, SEM, AFM, GDOES, profilometry, or similar materials characterization methods.
