Research Assistant, Materials Chemistry (Nanoparticles)

hirify.global is developing organ-scale reversible cryopreservation to preserve donated organs at subzero temperatures without ice formation and rewarm them uniformly for transplantation.

What you will do

• Synthesize nanomaterials using high-pressure reactors and purify them for secondary experiments.
• Characterize materials using in-house techniques and coordinate advanced characterization with external centers.
• Collaborate with external partners, CROs, CMOs, and internal organ transplant and hardware teams.
• Create and maintain chemical, reagent, purchasing, and laboratory consumables management systems.
• Prepare equipment, supplies, and solutions for experiments and ensure timely data reporting and accurate sample delivery.
• Support future experiments involving organ cooling and rewarming, assay design, cryoprotectant formulation and discovery, medical imaging, and toxicology.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in STEM and 3+ years of relevant industrial or academic experience in materials science, chemistry, bioengineering, or a related field.
• Experience with materials synthesis in a laboratory setting.
• Experience with multiple characterization techniques, including FTIR, NMR, TEM, DSC, and viscometry.
• Comfort working in a laboratory and collaborating across scientific and hardware disciplines.
• Creative, passionate about discovery, and motivated to advance scientific research.
