Focus on extracting physical insights from complex experimental data, correlating measurements with theoretical models, and iterating on architectures with circuit designers.

Location: Boston, United States; on-site

Salary: $150,000–$250,000 per year, plus equity; compensation varies with experience.

Company

hirify.global develops novel computing architectures and experimental devices.

What you will do

  • Design and execute experiments to characterize microelectronic devices and circuits.
  • Build custom measurement setups and automation scripts for data acquisition.
  • Process and analyze experimental signals using filtering, FFT, statistical analysis, and noise characterization.
  • Perform temperature-controlled measurements and analyze device behavior across temperature regimes.
  • Correlate experimental results with theoretical models and simulation data.
  • Collaborate with circuit designers to iterate on device and architecture designs.

Requirements

  • Experience characterizing microelectronic devices and circuits, including I–V characteristics, noise, high-frequency response, and temperature dependencies.
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, source-measure units, and probe stations.
  • Strong knowledge of experimental signal processing, data analysis, scientific computing, and device physics.
  • Experience analyzing non-linear dynamics, stochastic processes, or analog computing primitives.
  • Understanding of information theory and statistical mechanics as applied to physical systems.
  • Ability to collaborate with circuit designers on device and architecture development.

Nice to have

  • PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with an experimental focus.
  • Experience with neuromorphic, analog, or unconventional computing architectures.
  • Background in mesoscopic physics, semiconductor device physics, quantum transport, CMOS characterization, or semiconductor fabrication.
  • Experience with high-speed digital sampling, real-time data processing, machine learning for experimental data analysis, or pattern recognition.
  • Experience building measurement databases and data pipelines, or publications demonstrating physical insights from experimental data.

Culture & Benefits

  • Full-time employment in the Devices department.
  • On-site experimental work in Boston.
  • Equity compensation in addition to the salary range.
