Forward Deployed Software Engineer, Internship - AUS Government

Location: Sydney, Australia; hybrid workplace. Customer work may require travel and may often take place on site.

What you will do

• Understand complex customer problems and design data-driven solutions using hirify.global platforms.
• Own end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects in small teams with minimal supervision.
• Discuss architecture, work with massive-scale data, and develop custom web applications.
• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, Deployment Strategists, customer executives, and other stakeholders.
• Establish strategy for projects and take responsibility for real-world customer outcomes.

Requirements

• Active Australian Security clearance or eligibility and willingness to obtain one.
• Planning to graduate in 2027; this must be the final internship before graduation.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Java, C++, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
• Engineering background, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science.
• Ability to solve open-ended problems, work independently, adapt to changing objectives, and collaborate with technical and non-technical people.
• Interest in using large-scale data to solve valuable business problems and ability to travel as needed.
