Forward Deployed Engineer (Python/Go)

Location: United Kingdom, London; hybrid work with travel to client sites up to 25% of the time

What you will do

• Embed with client engineering teams to design, build, test, and deliver production-ready implementations of Vault products.
• Own the technical success of client engagements and translate business requirements into technical delivery plans.
• Write production-quality Python or Go code for integrations, tooling, data pipelines, product extensions, and client ecosystem connectivity.
• Debug distributed systems involving databases, messaging systems, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure.
• Design scalable solutions covering high availability, disaster recovery, capacity planning, security, and operational readiness.
• Support presales, run proofs of concept, advise clients on implementation best practices, and channel feedback to product and engineering teams.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Python or Go and the ability to iterate on ambiguous client requirements.
• Working knowledge of Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL or equivalent databases, and Kafka or equivalent messaging systems.
• Production experience deploying and operating workloads on AWS, GCP, Azure, or another major cloud platform.
• Experience delivering technical projects end to end, including edge cases, rollback planning, and operability.
• Experience working directly with external clients or partners and explaining complex systems to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to travel to client sites for up to 25% of working time.

Nice to have

• Experience in retail banking, payments, ledgers, or regulated financial services environments.
• Cloud architecture certification such as AWS Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
