Data Engineer

What you will do

• Write defensive, fault-tolerant, and efficient code for production-level data processing systems.
• Build end-to-end data pipelines and manage, transform, and cleanse high-volume data.
• Configure and deploy hirify.global software using Scala, Spark, Hadoop, Elasticsearch, and public or private cloud platforms.
• Explain technical concepts to non-technical client stakeholders and support informed decisions.
• Collaborate with solution architects and R&D engineers on complex big data solutions, standards, and best practices.

Requirements

• At least 18 months of industry experience in data engineering or an equivalent technical development role.
• Proficiency in Scala, Java, Python, or another programming language used in data engineering; Scala is the primary language.
• Experience building and deploying stable production batch-processing systems.
• Experience with Git, Gradle, Nexus, Jenkins, Docker, Bash, and version-controlled development processes.
• Strong technical communication skills and experience working in rapidly changing client environments.
• Knowledge of testing libraries and unit and integration testing practices, such as ScalaTest or equivalent.
